The event is organized under the auspices of H.E Eng. Arthur Nazarian, Minister of Energy and Water of Lebanon, by the Notre Dame University (NDU) and its Water, Energy and Environment, Research Centre (WEERC), the International and Mediterranean Network of Basin Organizations (INBO-MENBO), the International Water Office (OIEau), the Euro-Mediterranean Information System on the know-how in the Water Sector (EMWIS), the Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-MED), the Mediterranean Water Institute (IME), the Mediterranean Component of the EU Water Initiative (MED EUWI), the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Center of Arab and Water Security-Arab League, and follows up to the successful organization of four similar Mediterranean multi-events, with an emphasis this year on a set of crucial issues, such as:
 
Water, Energy, Food and Ecosystems Nexus at National and Transboundary level:
1.New policy approaches towards resource efficiency
2.Impact of conflicts and mass population movements
 
Non-Conventional Water Resources within an IWRM context :
1.Mobilisation of additional resources for demand management (New Water Mass)
2.Water reuse for Agriculture and Artificial recharge of aquifers
3.Rainwater Management and Grey Water Reuse
4.Sea Water Springs
5.Water Transfers
 
Innovative scientific and technological tools and methodologies:
1.Approaches for Hydrodiplomacy and Managing Transboundary water Resources
2.Spatial Observation of water and Environmental systems
3.Promoting interlinks between Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Integrated Water Resources Management
